The Pink Jellybeans

Morganite. This card is asking you to come out of your comfort zone and allow yourself to grow, to expand, and to allow yourself to “Create more space in your heart and the core of your being” (Toll, 2020). This is about allowing yourself to embrace the limitlessness of your potential if you would only allow yourself to do so. This is not an isolated sort of thing, it is all encompassing. It is about expanding all aspects of your being. It’s about allowing the truth to crowd out everything that isn’t…. because until now, everything that isn’t has been taking up entirely too much space. This has limited you from living fully in your life, your relationships, and even in your growth as a human being. This is going to take time but something inside of you has known for quite a while that you have become too small, you voice too quiet, this sense that who you are is disappearing as all the things that “aren’t” have crowded you out slowly but surely over time. Don’t take steps backward. Don’t allow what others think of you, or their expectations of you, hinder this new development. Dive right in to that creative energy, this rebirth of an important part of who you are! Of course, this isn’t to say that your life has been negative- not at all…. it’s just telling you, encouraging you, really, to keep expanding and reaching for the ultimate prize that is dream fulfillment, personal and emotional expansion, and all that wonderfulness that makes you who you are. I see you making a decision and then making another, and then another until before you know it, you look around and think- I have made my voice loud, I am no longer small, and I will expand my horizon with each new adventure!

The Yellow Jellybeans

I love Moonstone. I love how it reminds me that life is a series of phases, a journey, and often, even though it can be challenging, truly magical. It’s all about going with the flow, just like the tides follow the phases of the moon, and allowing ourselves to find our own rhythm as we navigate these phases. It is also a promise of renewal- a baptism of sorts as we allow the tides wash over us with each new phase. Maia Toll (2020) writes that moonstone is, “steadfast in her gentle assertion that everything comes around again.” Isn’t that amazing? Perhaps you feel like you missed out on something once upon a time. Don’t let it harden you. Believe in the cycle, trust that love, faith, opportunity…. it will all come back around. Just because something ended doesn’t mean it’s over. It may just return in a new way.

The moon represents our emotions. It asks us to remain fluid, not rigid, so we don’t dry up and wither. This card is asking that you remember the mysteries of your life. To allow them, not to disorient or confuse you, frighten or harden you, but instead to inspire. I wear moonstone because it delights me. It is so easy to get beaten down under the weight of the modern world. Moonstone, like the moon, reminds me that there is more than that. Like the sea and the tides, there is hope that what we thought was lost can always come back around. It reminds me that hard times get better. It reminds me that there is beauty in nature. It connects me to the calm I feel when I’m by the sea, and when mother Luna is high in the sky. This card is telling you to take a moment and not let the world take you by storm. It’s asking you to be calm in the midst of the storm and wait.

The Blue Jellybeans

Howlite. This card is telling you that it’s time to shut down the phone, turn off the tv, get off social media, and unplug for awhile. It’s about pulling yourself away from the distractions of daily life, your constantly running mind, and to take a moment to return to your center, your core. Howlite tells you that your core, your source of power is, “a still point within you,” and to “allow yourself to sink into it” (Toll, 2020). I know you have a lot going on. You are leading a life full of adventure, one thing after the other cascading into your days, filling your mind at night when you really should be powering down to be ready to go in the morning. In order to effectively continue at this pace, you don’t need to give it all up, or walk away from everything, but instead, pull away from the distractions that make all these amazing activities you have going on more stressful. Basically, it is time to find some balance between the activity and the peace. If you have trouble sleeping, or turning off your brain, Maia recommends making a cup of tea and being fully present during each step from the heating of the water, to pouring the water over the leaves, allowing your mind to come “into balance,” as each element is represented (Toll, 2020). Allow your mind to relax by taking time for what you may find mundane- like preparing tea. Sit down, drink your tea, and purge your mind of the plans you have for tomorrow, allowing your brain to relax so that you can truly rest (Toll, 2020). It’s kind of like mindful resting. You aren’t being lazy, you aren’t abandoning your priorities, you are simply being mindful about relaxing so that you can be at your best when you attend to those priorities! And remember- turn off that phone!
